Using a TC1000 with a PCMCIA Card

Does anyone know how to attach a Type II PC Card to a TC1000 via one of the USB ports. I thought the TC1000 had a PCMCIA port, but I seem to be mistaken.

ANSWER:
There is a PC card reader device that is availiable..that is an external device...that can be plugged in to your TC1000 via USB...HP TC1000 has no PCMCIA port..but the newer models like TC4200 do have them.

ill try and find out some good models for you if need be...unfortunately HP does not manufacture these Card readers.

The HP TC1000 & TC1100 supports boty type I & II Go to HP URL to see where (page 19). Remove the cover insert to get to it.

Hi John,

I've got one of the very early Compaq T1000 and it does have a PCMCIA (sorry I'm old!) slot on the side - but it is well hidden!

Directly next to the two USB connectors and above the CF slot there is a black strip. There is a small (5mm) square button here, which when pressed will eject the dummy PCMCIA slot protector card.

I have used this slot for an external floppy drive and can confirm that it's fully functional! :-)

Chat soon.
