New to Tablet PC - Just ordered HP TC1100

Greetings.

I've been using notebook for years and look forward to the new TC1100 (1.2Ghz, 1.5MB RAM, Wi-Fi and BT, 60GB HD) (HP has a $650 discount promo). Is this a good buy and the technology still up to date? Is there a new model coming? Please comment.

I plan to use the TC1100 as my main pc for home, office/business, travel, vacation, and carry to local Starbucks etc., and leave the notebook at home for home servers (as data backup).

The TC1100 should arrive in few days and I plan to install Office 2003, Money 2006, TaxCut 2005, iTunes, LimeWire, Adobe, PalmOne Desktop, PdaNet, eFax, CanoScan, Notorn SystemWorks, etc. - Are these software compatible?

I plan to read this Forum often to learn and get tips from you all.

TIA

Re: New to Tablet PC - Just ordered HP TC1100

Products to definetely stay away from on XP computers are: Google Earth or Google Toolbar. I have worked in Tech Support for a few years now, and although some people brag about how great it is to have Google Toolbar or Google Earth... I personally had to repair a ton of machines that have been corrupted by Google Toolbar. Adobe is great piece of software, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Systemworks.....not sure I wasn't really impressed by it, as a matter of fact I had to mess in the registry for quite a while to set things right. I would stay away from it unless I was absolutely confident that it won't cause issues. Norton Antivirus however does a great job.
