help with formatting tc1100!!

Hi guys,
I decided to format my tc1100 with an external Liteon CD burner drive with the factory recovery disks. But it just will not boot from the CD drive. I have gone into the BIOS menu and changed the boot order from hard drive to CD drive. But it will not boot from the drive. The drive works fine as I tested it out, but it will not boot from there. Did i do anything wrong? I am trying to boot with the factory Windows XP for Tablet CD.

thanks.

Re: help with formatting tc1100!!

Ok this is weird and when you hear this you will understand what i mean.

There are 5 ways to boot a tc1100 i should know i own one and had the same issue.

Here is what you do.

plug in a usb cd-rom drive into port one for boot 1 option or port 2 for boot 2 option. (Firewire cards dont work neither do Pcicima cards)

Start up the tc1100 series.

When the hp invent splash screen shows up take your pen and tap on the black area around the logo and select (select boot device) then select cd-rom
and the tc1100 series should boot if not change your usb port to another port and try again.

I have to admit it can get tricky.

There are 5 known ways to boot the tc 1100 series.

1.Plug cd-rom into usb 1st port (boot option 1)

2.Plug cd-rom into usb 1st port (boot option 2)

3.using a mac make a iso of your restore cd and using disk utility restore the image to a cf card and boot using a pcicima card hack

4.boot from a network

5.boot from a docking station.
