Recognized text in TIP

I'm running SR m a Gateway M275. When I use the TIP Writing Pad, the "preview" of the recognized text is not appearing. I don't think I did anything to turn the feature off, but I'd like to learn how to get it turned on.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Craig

Open docked TIP.

Go to Options.

Click Character Pad tab.
Under Handwriting Recognition, check Automatically recognize writing as text after a pause, and then set the pause to a short delay.

I had to play around with the settings. Mine didn't appear by default after I installed the final version of Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 either. I haven't taken time to completely understand the pattern yet, but my recognized words don't appear when I have certain options set on the Writing Pad tab. It have been operator error on my part :-D

Now I get:

I have other screenshots of TPC 2005 on TabletPCPost and want to do a full set of HOWTOs in the next few days. I'll take more time to track down the pattern then.

Tried but had no luck :-( darn.

I'll help playing with the options and see if I can-get something that works.

Just out of curiosity, the version of the TIP on my machine is 1.7.2600.2180

OK. I checked my options again. My options tab by default looked like the one above. (It could have been same setting from my RC2 install. I don't know.)

When "Automatically insert text after a pause" is checkmarked, then at least on my install, the recognized words do not appear under the handwriting.

Mine version is 2180 also.
