Cross Penabled doesn't work

I have the Gateway 2724 and love it. However, I lost my pen after maybe a couple of weeks of use. I went online to buy a replacement and found this model's pen somewhat hard to find, though there is always the choice of getting it directly from Gateway. Anyway, while online I noticed on Gateway's web site that they sold and supported the Wacom products. I investigated these products a little more and found that Cross partnered with Wacom to produce the Cross Penabled. Maybe going this extra jump from Gateway to Wacom and then Wacom to Cross is going to prove to get me in trouble here, but I expected it to work straight away with the Gateway, especially since Cross' web site indicates that the pen is compatible with Gateway Tablet PCs. Long story short, I got the Cross Penabled today and I just can't get it to work. Any tips or ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

figured it out sort of :(

Well, I found a review online that indicated that the Gateway CX2xxx series does not support the Wacom Penabled series out of the box. Does anyone know if Wacom has developed a driver to work around this issue? I'd love to use the Wacom Penabled, as after studying it a bit I'd consider it superior to the FinePoint Innovations product.

Sorry, I went through something similar with my Gateway. The Cross pen only supports certain Gateway models. The CX2724 digitizer is not made by Wacom, therefore, the pen will not work. Your best bet is to buy the pen from Gateway.
