Angry Gateway M275 Keyboard locks up with Verizon 5220 Aircard

Hello,

I have been spending several hours attempting to resolve a keyboard random lockup issue.

After I have connected using a Verizon Wireless 5200 Broadband card, after a few minutes my keyboard/touchpad stops responding and the only method to get back control is to press the Pen Tablet button on the bottom of the LCD panel.

After this service is restored and I can work again for a few more minuted before the whole lockup happens again.

Very frustrating and I have been tinkering around with little success. I have 42 laptops, may have to give up and move on to another tablet PC if I can't get this going.

Any help would be appreciated.

FR

Gateway M275 Tablet Keyboard Lockup with Verizon 5220 Card

Did you ever resolve this? We have had the same issue with four different M275 tablets, all using this same Verizon card. I did find that Verizon just released a new version of their access manager software (v5.1.0). This update fixed the problem on one of our tablets, but not on the other 3. The software update can be found here:

Hope this helps you!

This is interesting that one was fixed and the other three were not. Did you figure out what the difference is between them? Is the bios set differently on the one? Maybe a different version? Is 2005 edition installed? Do you have a firewall / virus protection that maybe is different versions?

Re: Gateway M275 Keyboard locks up with Verizon 5220 Aircard

I am using the PC5250 Verizon aircard that I installed yesterday. I am also using the lastest VZAccess Manager version 5.1 as well. My tablet pc is a Gateway M275X-C. Just as you my mouse and keyboard are locking up. I sent an email back to Verizon using the stylus. If I get any news back, good or bad I will get back with everyone here. Meantime if anyone finds a solution, please advise.

Thanks,

Jerry

I think I have found a solution while reading thru the Gateway support website. The BIOS system needs an upgrade.
Gateway Support Drivers & Downloads I'm pretty tired and bug eyeyed tonight, so I'll give it a shot tomorrow while thinking a bit straighter.

later,

Jerry

Talking Re: Gateway M275 Keyboard locks up with Verizon 5220 Aircard

Gateway Support - M275 Mouse/Touchpad and Keyboard Lock Up Intermittently When Using a Wireless PCMCIA Cellular Card. For example: Verizon, Sprint

I no longer experience mouse/keyboard lockup from the wireless aircard software. I pasted the link above that solved this problem.

take care,

Jerry
