No keyboard on Input panel

I have just purchased a Fujitsu 3010 tablet - as someone new to tablets WOW.

Now the problem for work I needed to install: NET Framework 2.0 Beta 2 and Windows Installer v3.0.

This I duly did. However it has meant that when I log off/shut down the tabtip crashes and saying programme ending now, further when I start up I used to have a keyboard showing so I could use the pen and also on the Tablet PC input panel the third choice of inputting using the keyboard no longer exists.

The Fujitsu recovery disk so not allow me to just do a Windows repair which is what I guess I need. I then did a system restore to take me back in time, however all this has done is that now the system does not give me the error messages, I get no blue panel where the keyboard used to be on log in but on the Keyboard input panel whilst you can write in it freehand or use the letter by letter writing the keyboard does not show at all it is just a plain blue box.

So help, any ideas much appreciated.

I have no help, only a similar problem. I also have .NET 2.0. I installed some Office 2007 Beta. I start my machine (Electrovaya Scribbler 3000) and I get a dialog that the C++ runtime library was asked to terminate in an unexpected manner. I can only get the dialog to close by killing it, i.e., right-clicking the icon on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen and selecting Close, then selecting the option to en the unresposibve process. That's when the dialog about having to close a program and if I want to send an error report to Microsoft about the Tablet PC Component not responding comes up. This is where I found out that it was TabTip.exe that wasn't playing nice.

My pen still moves the mouse around and I can click buttons, but the input panel doesn't work. I don't get a fake keyboard and the icon for the input panel doesn't appear.

The Even Viewer has no exception that I can relate to the problem.
