Bios Stylistic 3400

I bought some time ago a used stylistic 3400 where the previous user set a bios-password he forgot. Now I want to have access to the bios and this is not possible without help from Fujitsu/Siemens. Unfortunately they want to have about 50 euro for giving me a new passwort. I do not need a new one urgendly, but maybe for future this becomes necessary. And - I don´t want to pay this for!
If anyone has an idea for help I will be very happy.

Thx
norbert

Cool Contacting Fujitsu...

For the 3400 Tablet, I have the same issue and per their website FAQ section,
"Please call FPC Technical Support for help. We can provide you with a "break" password that will remove the forgotten password. Make sure that you have the pen tablet with you when you call Technical Support, because we will need to talk you through the special procedure to enter the "break" password. We will also need the serial number of your pen tablet."

I am persuing this route since I do not want to pay $150 (US). Currently they are saying I need to talk to the Level 2 support to resolve this. Other newer notebooks and tablet pc's have a security chip that stores the password and the only way to remove or extract the password is to sent it back so they can "read" the chip.

If I get anything, I will post it here.

Well, it worked but the process is a one-off solution. Here is the deal, call Fujitsu Level 2 tech support and give them the information requested (S/N , Model, etc.) and they will then give you three password keys.

At the end of the process, you will get the message system locked with a 20 digit number. You read this off to the Fujitsu tech support and they will give you a "Break" key and all is now ok. This password is only valid for 24 hours and for that Tablet PC (this is what rips...).

Hope this is of some benefit.

Re: Bios Stylistic 3400

I called Fujitsu tech support and they say I need to ship the unit to their facility and it will be $150. I told them I'd read about an over the phone password solution and they deny there's anything like this... has anyone else tried this? Is there a different phone number for "level 2" tech support?

Re: Bios Stylistic 3400

I had the same problem but insisted to the tech that there was a break password. He checked on it and told me that he didn't know about it because that information was at a higher level of support.

The second tier of support has a direct number 888-241-4060 opt 2. They read me 3 passwords which produced a 20 digit key. Then they sent that to the 3rd tier of support and will call me back with in 24 hours to give me the break password.

I hope this helps.
