| Some other guys on another forum site told me I should post this here because they claim its not really a Tablet PC even though Fujitsu DOES on their web site and in support documentation. I need some answers if anyone can help. It does seem like a BIG PDA to me, but is listed as a Tablet PC and I've contacted 3 different people at Fujitsu and apparently all they can do for me is verify that its a valid product, but no one there can tell me what it retailed for in 2005 when it was being sold/produced. I will reveal if I've been had after some people help me with some questions. Just bought a Fujitsu Stylistic CT2020 CE Tablet PC MINT CONDITION NEVER USED. I have no clue about this thing or tablet PCs, but I know a great deal about computers and laptops. I scoured the net on this thing before I bought it and it was hard to find information on it and I cannot figure out why. I looked for recalls, defects, etc.. and found nothing except that it had won an editors choice award in 2005. The few web sites I did find selling these were listing them at around $1300 which made me feel as though I was getting a good deal, but for whatever reason I didn't think to check Ebay for similar products (did check for this exact one and found none sold). I figured if I couldn't find it on Ebay and its basically a 2005 product then maybe people are just liking there's a lot and kept them. I know nothing about Windows CE .NET 4.2 except that its a scaled down version of windows for embedded systems. So I guess my main question is if someone were to sell this product TODAY and it was NEW never used what would a reasonable price for it be and why? What are the other competing products out there and how much better are they? Is this thing just on an old OS? Did not that many people like it? Why didn't CNET do a review on it? Is this a PDA or a Tablet PC and if its a PDA why can Fujitsu get away with calling it a Tablet PC? Should it be sold as a BIG PDA? Should I install Windows Mobile 5 on it to make it more marketable? Is that even possible? How? Here are its specs too: Microprocessor Intel® PXA255 Processor 400 MHz with Intel® XScale® microarchitecture Operating Systems Microsoft® Windows® CE .Net, v4.2 Display/Digitizer 10.4" XGA LCD, indoor viewable Resistive (passive) with palm-rejection technology System Memory 128 MB Flash ROM (MDOC) on board (approximately 64 MB available for useage) 128 MB SDRAM on board (approximately 64 MB available for useage) Video Integrated 32-bit 3D/2D with 8 MB VRAM on-board Audio AC'97-compliant with internal speaker and microphone; 2.5mm audio jack Environmental Operating Temperature: 32° - 95° F (0° - 35° C) Operating humidity: 10 - 90% non-condensing Non-operating temperature: -4° - 140° F (-20° - 60° C) Non-operating humidity: 8 - 95% non-condensing Communications Built-in 802.11b/g (Wi-Fi® Certified); diversity antenna System Ports USB 1.1 Barcode Scanner Port External monitor connector Modem (RJ-11) jack Ethernet (RJ-45) jack System interface connector PC Card Slot One PCMCIA Type I or Type II slot; One CF Type II (3.3V/500 mAh) Battery/Life Standard Lithium ion; (4-cell: 10.8V, 4400 mAh); rated up to 6 hours using main battery AC Adapter Auto-sensing dual voltage support, 90-246V AC; DC 12V, 2.5A Dimensions/Weight 8.07"(w) x 11.4"(h) x .98"(d); (205 mm x 290 mm x 25 mm) 2.18 lbs. | Re: Have I been had: Fujitsu CT2020 or FPCMCT20201 I don't understand. You researched it, then bought it, but now you don't know what it is and want someone else to tell you? Why did you buy it? You have it in front of you. Does it do what you need it to do or doesn't it? If it does then use it. If it doesn't, then sell it. TD |

| Re: Have I been had: Fujitsu CT2020 or FPCMCT20201 I only bought it to resell it. I am attempting to find out what someone would pay for what it is (or simply what its worth retail) and what it is..... IS a GRAY AREA Tablet PC or BIG ASS PDA. I am afraid it will not sell for at least $250 which is what I bought it at. At the time I bought it I had confirmed it was a Tablet PC on Fujitsu's web site and it was listed in only a couple other places on the web for sale at $1300. This is what I figure it went for new in 2005. I rested with what I'd found out and then went to see it and bought it for reselling. Then though (always after the fact) I got to thinking about the guy's demeanor while the sale was going on and something about it bothered me. Researched some more and began to hit walls. Then people in other forums tell me its not a real Tablet PC, but its a hybrid PDA and PC..... but Fujitsu lists it as a TABLET PC. CONFUSION. CONFUSION. Then some other people just call it a BIG PDA, but this is only in forums like this one where people know PDA's, Tablet PCs, and the like well. I don't need it. It would be nice to have and its in excellent shape and does what its supposed to do, but I want to just resell it. Had I known it was this "GRAY AREA" tablet PC or BIG PDA that didn't really have a niche' in the market anywhere I wouldn't have got it and thats what I've unfortunately found out after the fact. So my concern is who will want to buy it and will they want to pay at least $250. And my "wonder" is how come there seems to be extremely little known and very little information about these all across the internet. |

| Re: Have I been had: Fujitsu CT2020 or FPCMCT20201 If it runs windows CE it is a big-ass PDA. But why do you care? Just list what it has in it and let the buyer decide if it suits their purpose. You can get a new, modern PDA for $250 (like Palm TX) so I think you're going to have to sell at less than that unless you find a buyer who needs the hardware to repair a critical unit. OTOH, fools on ebay will pay prices higher than retail for things they can buy at their local Walmart, so list it there and hope it gets seen by some of them. TD |

| Re: Have I been had: Fujitsu CT2020 or FPCMCT20201 Yer right about everything you've said herein Tyler and I knew a lot of what you said already. LOL - I suppose I was just looking for solace because I knew I got screwed over a bit because had I known it was such a gray area device I wouldn't have gotten it for resale. Anyway thanks for the advice. |
