Futurist and best-selling author Ray Kurzweil spoke with Gregg W. Downey recently in Dallas. This is a three segment report of the interview:

Why should educators pay attention to Kurzweil? Because he does what educators also try to do, although he does not hold a classroom teaching position every day.

He's one of the people creating tools that expands options that individuals (teachers and students) in and out of school may select in order to live our lives as each one of us may choose.
