Maria Sacchetti reports in the Boston Globe that Massachusetts superintendents of schools asked for cash incentives to attract math and science teachers. Incentives could include merit pay for raising student test scores, or higher starting salaries. Sacchetti previously reported other professional and political efforts in Massachusetts to offer teachers merit and other incentive pay for performance and student learning. I wonder how Tablet PCs and other learning tools figure into proposals for teacher incentives?
