Conferences 2007 AY: Consumer Electronics Show

This is part of a list of conferences addressing topics of special interest to educators and mobile PC users.

January 8-11, 2007 Consumer Electronics Show, Las Vegas, NV. Many conferences compete for attention and resources of educators. One of the most interesting, I think one of the most fun, conferences is the Consumer Electronics Show. This year, CES organizers will offer a new venue called TechZone. Several companies may attract attention of teachers and administrators, including:

Anytime-Anywhere TechArena Consumers are entering a world where they choose to be entertained anytime they want, anywhere they want. Content is increasingly available in on-demand formats in nearly every consumer electronics (CE) category from audio to wireless.

The Anytime-Anywhere TechArena features many market-specific TechZones to give you a chance to meet producers, manufacturers and content shifting technology companies in any CE market.

CE Just for Kids Children ages 4-14 are a new and rapidly growing audience for consumer electronics. Kids are using interactive learning programs, digital cameras, mp3 players and cell phones every day.

The Just for Kids TechZone provides an opportunity for companies with products targeted toward this market to gain exposure. Exhibitors should include toy manufacturers with technology focused on edutainment, interactive programs, innovative children’s toys and electronic safety equipment. Also included will be consumer electronics such as digital cameras, mp3 players, cell phones and DVD players, geared specifically towards children and pre-teens.

ExpressCard Used for high-performance, low-cost I/O expansion in desktop and mobile PCs, the new standard empowers end users to configure systems and create unique, integrated solutions to meet their computing interconnect needs.

The ExpressCard TechZone highlights this technology, which offers 3x higher performance, half the size, and lower cost than today's CardBus PC card.

Podcasting The Podcasting TechZone features companies with software, services and equipment to produce audio and video podcasts. This Podcasting TechZone puts you face-to-face with corporate managers and executives.
