| IBM's Service Sciences, Management, and Engineering Initiative Paul McClosky reports that IBM Corp. has arrangements with Indian universities and the University of California, Berkeley; Arizona State University; and North Carolina State University. These universities will develop the interdisciplinary curriculum, which it calls service sciences, management, and engineering (SSME) and will train students in the field of "service science" skills associated with technical services and support. ... the field combines research and teaching in the fields of computer science, computer engineering, business strategy and management to help students develop the skills needed in a technology-based, services-led economy. This new academic initiative will prepare graduate students for careers in the evolving multi-disciplinary field of services management. Hmmm, I wonder how someone might adapt that to fit teacher prep? Tablet PC Education Blog |
