Eleanor Chute, reports that $90 million for laptop computers is part of a $90 million plan that includes adding 250 more high schools to the Pennsylvania Classrooms for the Future initiative, which includes other technology. During 2006-07, 103 high schools participated in the first year of the program at a cost of $20 million.

Classrooms for the Future is about creating environments for deeper cognitive development through inquiry, real and relevant project-based learning, and differentiated instruction. ... teachers are facilitators, guides, and co-investigators; students are producers, apprentices, and co-explorers.

The article doesn't say, but I wonder if this announcement means that more schools under the initiative will also use Tablet PCs?
