New Education Sector report shows how virtual learning bring reforms in teaching, learning, and accountability to public education.

... virtual schools are leading innovation in areas that traditional schools have struggled for decades to improve. They are personalizing student learning and extending it beyond the traditional school day. They are creating new models for teaching—with opportunities to easily observe, evaluate, and assist instructors. And they are pioneering performance-based education funding models.

Virtual schools are growing rapidly, serving over 700,000 students in the 2005–06 school year. These schools provide more than another delivery system for students. They contribute to reforms to traditional public schools.

I wonder if I missed contributions that Tablets, UMPCs, and other mobile PCs make to these virtual schools.
