| Developing application for PDA and TabletPC I am working on software application developed on eVB and eVC for PDA on WinCE. Now the requirement is that the application should be run on Tablet PC, PDA as well as on Desktop PC. The technology involved could be either .Net framework or Java. Is it possible? Is there any way I can use the same application to be run on these environments? Also, can you suggest me, which is the ideal technology? |

If the application is already developed in eVB and eVC (I gather these are current buzzwords for Visual Basic and Visual C++), why are you asking whether you should develop it in Java? ..Net is the only option open to you unless you want to rewrite everything. Apart from that, I recommend the following process: (1) Develop user interfaces for both platforms. (2) If they are not profoundly different, conclude that you have done a careless job, and do it again. (3) Design the software so that the user interface is decoupled from function to the greatest extent practical. (4) Code and debug on the platform of your choice. | Re: Developing application for PDA and TabletPC You would need to port the application to different systems, Windows XP and WinCE, but I believe your best responses would be in the microsoft.public.windows.tabletpc.developer newsgroup where they deal with programming and development. This newsgroup supports users. You may also want to check the information on the official Tablet PC developers web site: http://www.gotdotnet.com/team/tabletpc/ There is a lot of solutions on the site, the Tablet PC Platform SDK is available for download, and they have connections to blogs and message boards. -- Chris H.
