| Tabtip and MessageBox compatibility issue Hi, I'm new to TabletPC development. So please excuse me, if this question was asked before. Recently we got a complaint from one of our customers that our application was not running on his CF 19 series Toughbook. I had him turn in one of his machines and was able to reproduce the effect. Apparantly our application locks up as long as Tabtip is running. I was able to trace the problem down to call of the standard MessageBox API function. After digging a bit in the news groups I got the tip about disabling the "Advanced Text Features" for that application, but since the MessageBox is called from inside a dynamically loaded dll, it didn't solve my problem. Question: What do I have to do to make my application/dll tablet pc compatible Thanks in advance Bjoern |

| RE: Tabtip and MessageBox compatibility issue Hi Bjoern, Sorry for the late response on this. I hope it is not too late to investigate the issue. Could you please describe how the Message Box is called from inside the DLL? Are you making the call to show the message box from within the dll load? If so, this is not advised. Showing UI while holding the loader lock is not supported. What is the OS version that you are running the application on? It seems to be XP SP2, but please confirm. What Tablet components/controls does your application use, if any? Does it use TIP? When application hangs, what is it trying to do? Basically which call does it hang on? Could you please post a call stack or describe a flow of events leading to the hang? It will help to understand what is going wrong. Thank you.
