| Hand vs. Stylus Input All: I am developing a prototype for a consume electronics device, and want to use a Tablet PC for the prototype. The ultimate device would contain a touch sensitive screen (no keyboard or mouse). In the best of worlds, the user would not have to use a stylus - just a finger. 1. Is there a vendor/version/brand of Tablet that would meet this criteria? 2. Should I be looking outside of the Tablet PC arena for something else? Some sort of embedded Linux device, perhaps? Thank you, jpuopolo |

If you're willing to consider something smaller, Pocket PCs (now called Windows Mobile Classic or Windows Mobile Professional) have screens that work with passive stylus or fingers). If you're willing to perhaps spend a bit more, some industrial Windows CE devices have large screens that work with passive stylus or fingers. Do UMPCs have touch-sensitive screens? > >Thank you, >jpuopolo ----------------------------------------- To reply to me, remove the underscores (_) from my email address (and please indicate which newsgroup and message). | Re: Hand vs. Stylus Input Hey John if you need something small, check out any of the UMPC/Origami devices like Asus R2H, Samsung Q1, Tablet Kiosk, etc. If you want a full-sized tablet, then I strongly recommend you look at the Lenovo X61 or the Gateway convertible as both support *both* pen input (through an active digitizer) and touch screen input (deactivated when a pen comes in range) and the best part is, the Tablet PC SDK will let you distinguish between these two inputs. So you could imagine a paint program that uses a thin brush when you use the pen or a broad brush when you use a finger. -- Josh Einstein (Tablet PC MVP) Einstein Technologies Tablet Enhancements for Outlook - Try it free: www.tabletoutlook.com "john" <puopolo******.com> wrote in message news:1193764603.246718.191250@o38g2000hse.googlegr oups.com... > All: > > I am developing a prototype for a consume electronics device, and want > to use a Tablet PC for the prototype.
