| Vista limitations in Word from a wannabe geek I'm using Vista on a new tablet with a WORD 2003 template. Here are my issues - 1. The TIP will not automatically let me have 2 spaces after a period, even if I'm giving max space (I'm writing sentences), or will not give a space when I'm entering numbers and a dash, i.e. 9/23/06-9/23/07, should appear as 9/23/06 - 9/23/07. 2. Since I'm conducting a lot of interviews throughout the day, using gestures or bringing up the keyboard just to add a space is FAR from ideal, as speed is essential 3. Is there a way to program Vista to do this using C#, C++ or VB.net, as well as adding some buttons to control fields on WORD template, ? 4. I'm looking at several form building packages, such as Active Ink, Mi-Forms, and EPen and Forms Builder, but have been told I still need to know VB to create a workable form that could convert or overlay text into my Word template. Hope all you developers don't mind answering this question from someone with ZERO programming skills, but I'm unsure what the best options/pricing are to accomplish this One company wanted to charge me $15,000 for what I thought was a simple 1.5 page template with approx. 40 fields (no databasing, weblinking needed) |

| Re: Vista limitations in Word from a wannabe geek Depending on whether or not the company already has a product to design form templates for Word, $15,000 isn't unreasonable. To build one from scratch I'd charge more than that. :) I don't know what to tell you about the forms other than maybe check out InfoPath. As for the double space after period, can you create a Word Autocorrect entry for period + space to convert it to period + space space? That might cause problems with abbreviations like Mr., St., etc but who knows. The other option, though a little tedious, is to click the word at the end of the sentence in the TIP (before it gets inserted) and click "insert space to the left" on the space after the period. | Re: Vista limitations in Word from a wannabe geek Sorry for the late response. I've been a bit busy travelling and haven't been able to check the groups. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you much about InfoPath as I don't use it. I found it to be a bit complicated for anything I'd need it for. -- Josh Einstein (Tablet PC MVP) Einstein Technologies Tablet Enhancements for Outlook - Try it free: www.tabletoutlook.com "clintonG" <nobody@nowhere.com> wrote in message news:uaP%233hXAIHA.1184@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Josh is it or is it not correct to say InfoPath does not support a literal > representation of the look and feel of paper forms? > > <%= Clinton Gallagher > NET csgallagher AT metromilwaukee.com > URL http://clintongallagher.metromilwaukee.com/ > > > "Josh Einstein" <josh@einsteintech.net> wrote in message > news:546D760E-6998-4E6E-85C0-1CB4DF5B6711@microsoft.com... >> Depending on whether or not the company already has a product to design >> form templates for Word, $15,000 isn't unreasonable.
