A TabletPC for business applications?

I have put this in both groups because I would like to get opinions
from users and developers both.

I am looking at using tablet PCs in a business application.

Let's say that I want to have a form with several fields to be filled
in by the field service person. Then, we would like to email the
completed form to the same address each time it is filled out.

Does a tablet allow the user to set up a form to fill out or would the
form require a programmer using visual basic or another programming
tool?

What about a touchscreen application where the service person could
just click on various choices and then generate the email?

For purposes of this discussion, these are the complete requirements.

Thank you in advance for answers to these general questions. I am just
trying to figure out how much functionality is built into a tablet.

Re: A TabletPC for business applications?

You can do all of this with Infopath 2007 and it is ink aware, you can even
you a SQL DB, or access DB. You can also webify the app with Forms Server
2007, and you won't need the fat client (infopath that is), you would fill
out the web form.

Jeff

Having a web form is a nice alternative if a connection is available in
the field. Just one bit to add - Depending on the data captured you
might want to make sure that it is a secure connection and/or not a
simple form post with an open connection.
