After this journey, I started to think about my two daughters’ involvement in computers. The oldest was a few days old when she was introduced to the PC computer store (May, 1991). The youngest was always the most interested, and would spend hours watching the technicians fix computers, monitors, printers, and other types of accessories.
In 2000, we started a website called linuxtests.org in order to post about our experiences with hardware and Linux distributions. Slashdot linked many times and this propeled both girls to write more and more. The domain names changed a few times until they girls settled on
Tux Reports. Here is a look at
an October 2001 review they published about SuSE.
Fun memories. In fact,
the statistics page says:
Most people visit us on Monday with a total of 81461 pageviews, while Sunday is not really our best day with a total of 30258 pageviews. In average, our best hour (with) 17756 pageviews ) is at 8 o'clock , while only our hardcore-fans seem to show up at 5 o'clock (with only 9228 pageviews).
