Tablet PC Counter was started almost two years ago, however, there has been a placeholder. Today, new software was installed which allows members to submit and vote on the latest stories about Tablet PCs and UMPCs.
There are little glitches because this is beta software. Plus, I am a little nervous about this project because in order for it to work the site must include everyone from the community.
In case there are concerns rattling in your brain, here is a list which must be addressed. Maybe you know of others and therefore please leave a comment.
Concerns
Sites and bloggers may submit stories and no one votes, minimizing the excitement about submitting another story.
One site dominates the front page.
A user spams the comments or story submissions.
I have tried to list a few benefits, too. Maybe you know of a few more benefits.
Benefits
Sites devoted to the UMPC or Tablet PC can help promote the project by submitting their own stories.
Bloggers may submit their own posts and hopefully drive traffic and discussions.
Links from a high PR ranked site will spread the PR.
I hope this site gets discussions going on everyone's blogs, sites, and forums. Additionally, please realize there are no ads on the site. If this experiment fails then we will try something else to help promote the UMPC and Tablet PC. Please visit the site, register, submit stories, and vote often.
