Despite all of the push regarding RSS feeds, visiting a blog is better than simply viewing an RSS Feed. There is a feeling one gains by seeing the blogger's presentation. The aesthetics are part of the story. Has the blogger changed the default settings or loaded a unique theme or layout? Even the bloggers choice of words are influenced by the placement on a page - just ask EE Cummings in his poem
since feeling is first. Change the layout and some of the meaning of the poem is lost. Picture this in an RSS feed: "for life's not a paragraph And death i think is no parenthesis"
First, someone might think the writer was ignorant of rules of punctuation, capitalization rules, and sentence structure. However, seeing the poem provides the rhythm to the poem. Seeing the poem brings the ideas to life. Visiting a website is the same - there is a feeling.
Anything to break up that feeling is not appreciated. And the Snap addon is an annoyance because there is a breakup of the reading and visualization. Bloggers who care about their themes and have spent so much time (or money) on a theme should not compromise their site. Besides, if I want to visit the linked site then I can open the linked site in the background tab on my browser. I don't need a small preview.
