I see that the registration page is live for
Mix08. The conference is to be held March 5-7th at the Venetian in Las Vegas. For those that are wondering, that's a Wednesday through a Friday. If you register before January 15, the cost is $1095 and $1295 thereafter.
As you might recall, I couldn't get into Mix last year. I tried. But they sold out. Instead I walked the hallways dodging security guards. I was eager to go last year because ink was being presented for the first time within Silverlight.
So this year will I sign up? Currently my thinking is no. Despite my work with the Silverlight and the
SearchTIP,
ink-enabled twitter messages (InkGrams), and the like I'm going to wait and see why I should go. Last year I tried hard to go, I was in between chemo and surgery so it was difficult to plan ahead, but the Mix team made it so difficult to try any work around, it just became too bureaucratic and that's not the kind of conference I'm interested in attending.
It does sound cool that Guy Kawasaki is going to give a keynote speech. He's a great speaker and moderator. The conference sessions and speeches I've seen him give are well worth it. I also see that Scott Guthrie is going to be speaking. Likewise he often presents great gems in his talks--the latest things that developers need to stay up on.
