There's a bit of chatter this morning about the next version of IE, IE8. In particular, people are asking "what's up?" Where's the transparency?
Microsoft General Manager, Dean Hachamovitch, responds: "...please don’t mistake silence for inaction."
Actually, I liken silence not to inaction, but rather to tradeoffs being made. No one wants to talk about what's not going to make it in the final cut. For those looking for specific features or support, that's when they should get nervous. For me, I'm so out of the ballpark in terms of what I'd like to see from IE, that I've accepted the fact that what I'm looking for probably won't be around for years to come. That's OK, there's plenty to do in the meantime. I accept defeat. :-)
By the way, it's not just the IE team that's laying low. I'd say it's Microsoft's dev teams across the board. The one team that I can think of as an exception is Scott Guthrie's.
