Servite High School had a distinct vision of what it wanted to see in technology for its students. After trials and a pilot, the school decided to go with one Tablet PC per student, faculty, and staff. The Lenovo Tablet PCs are complete with Microsoft Office, DyKnow Vision & Monitor collaborative note-taking and presentation system and Inspiration Software, all of which take advantage of Tablet & Touch technology.
Servite was also smart in that they understood that their infrastucture needs to be able to support these PCs and that everyone needs to be trained on what to expect and how to fully use it. Communication is also important.
The presentation to the parents is posted on the school's website and you can take a look at how they helped parents understand and participate in the process too. This is a great example for other schools considering 1:1 computing.
