HP is one of the sponsors for Gnomedex. Why are they at a user event like Gnomedex? Because of the influencers that are there. In particular they want to "start a conversation" with influentials and bloggers--like you. They'd like feedback on how they can build a better notebook. Anyone have suggestions on how HP could build a better Tablet PC notebook? I do. What about multi-touch? What about dual touch, with an active digitizer and a capacitive digitizer (no resistive touch thank you very much)? What about broadband wireless? And what about companies such as HP working with the wireless providers to create coverage options that make sense for people that have more than one device? If I have to pay $60-$80/month for each device to stay connected, I'm not going to take advantage of the technology like I would otherwise.
Anyway, if you're like me you probably have a few good ideas bouncing around that you'd love to see actually make it into your next notebook. Here's your chance to speak up and be heard.
For now it the HP community site consists of a forum that you have to register to get into. Generally I don't like to register to get into sites, but this time I'll give it a try. It's worth it. I don't think the notebook market has progressed enough over the last couple years. The Centrino platform was a big win for everyone, but since then, well, uh, the innovation has been pretty lackluster.
