| I realized this morning I'm dreaming. I'd like to have a UMPC that's under the one pound range. I'd carry it more. I'd use it more. Currently many UMPCs are right under or around the two pound mark. Not bad. However, cut that in half, and it becomes dreamy. Incremental Blogger |

| Re: I'm becoming more and more sensitive to UMPC weight My R2H's not quite 2 pounds is hefty enough to be reassuring, but not enough to make me wince. I'd rather manufacturers focus on faster processors, better graphics, better built-in GPS units, longer battery life and wireless broadband (I'm just about to the point where I think I might want to pay for it). I also want more devices with palm rejection. I know some people hate the touchscreens that require more effort or fingernails to use, but for me, vectoring is the greater evil. My R2H leaves something to be desired, as far as processor performance and Vista driver stability, but as I sit here, bumping my pinky knuckle against and resting my palm on the screen while I write this response, I can tell you exactly what Asus did right. UMPC makers take note: this UMPC takes great notes! |
