With Monsoon season in full swing here in the Phoenix area, I'm often checking out the radar on Weather.com. However, it's not ideal. I'd really like a focused weather app--not a sidebar gadget, but rather something big enough so that I can watch what's going on, yet not get in the way, and above all is easy to use.
My first inclination is to have a weather app on my iPhone. But it's not programmable in the way I need it to be. Writing a Safari app isn't what I'm wanting to do.
My UMPC is fully programmable though. I've been thinking more and more about authoring a weather app for it--something I could get to easily, would run full screen, be easy to navigate, and effortless to use.
I typically have my UMPC configured so that the On/Off switch sets the device to hibernate, which gives me fast access to the app if I leave it running. Hmmm. This might be a fun project one night when the power goes out after a strong Monsoon storm blows through. This could be fun.
