Engadget (via Notebook Italia) is pointing some photos of a new HP Tablet PC, the HP 2710p.
HP has some details about the HP 2710p Tablet PC, the HP 2710p on its Ireland site. Described as a "business notebook...that convert into a "Tablet," only a few details are given on the HP site, but here are a few:
* Intel® Core 2 Duo
* HP Broadband Wireless -- Contract sold separately
* New HP QuickLook -- Check contents of email and the like, without having to boot Vista in as little as 10 seconds (from Sleep mode). Works with Vista only.
* HP Durafinish and HP DuraKeys-- DuraFinish "makes your keyboard more resistant to wear" and "HP DuraKeys to be 50 times more resistant to wear than those on competitive notebooks"
* Dual microphone array
* Thumb mouse -- no touchpad
* Optional webcam
* Available July 2007
* A fullscreen photo is available here. It appears to be an artists rendering of the HP 2710p rather than a photograph of an actual machine, but I might be wrong. Also doesn't look like there are any buttons on the bevel of the display. Are the buttons on the side? The picture only shows an on/off slide button on the front-left of the case. I'm thinking that this concept rendering doesn't show all the HP 2710p's features.
On Engadget someone points to a PDF (Search Google for "HP 2710p" to get an HTML version of the document), that a few more details about the new Tablet, such as its weight at 1.65kg (3.6 lbs) and that there will be a 16-hour extended battery available for it. Cool. With all my battery problems with the Toshiba M400, this could be my next Tablet.
