Question Computer suddenly slow down!!

Hello everybody!!

I hope someone can help me with this issue, almost every day when I'm working with this thing (AVERATEC Tablet PC CS3500) suddenly slows down for no apparently reason, 2 weeks ago I called Tech Support and they told me to run DISK DEFRAGMENTER, and they told me that this will solve the problem, but, guess what? Nothing!!! still the same problem.

Then I ran Norton AntiVirus that came installed with the unit and the antispyware detect a file called "link[1].htlm", I erase the file and for 2 or 3 days the "suddenly slow down problem" disappear, but It's happening again.

I look for the file once more in case it's installed again but It's not there, I follow the "manual delete procedure" (that Norton told me in the Final Report after the scanning) of the files that are store in the registry and could be a threat and from a list of more than 30 files only 2 were found, the rest are not there, anyway I delete those 2 files.

I need this computer for my work but every time a click on a folder or start a program I'm affraid the problem will occur again, during the "slow-down" period I hit the Ctrl-Alt-Delete and (after 2 or 3 minutes) when the TASK MANAGER windows appear I notice that the "CPU USAGE WINDOW" it's at 100%!!!!! Then after a few minutes the CPU Usage Window return to a "NORMAL RATE" for another minute, then the computer slows down again and the story keeps the same until I reset the computer, for the rest of the day (after I restart) I have no problems. I ran several antispyware programs and antivirus to see if they pick up something but nothing apparently is causing this problem, I have a custom-made desktop computer at my home and in both computers I have the same software installed, on my desktop computer I have no issues.

I had an issue when the computer turn back from hybernation but it's solved with the patch downloaded from AVERATEC website, thanks for the advice found in this forum.

I still have the problem with the touch pad (it's crazy) when I try to use it the cursor moves everywhere and a lot of pop up windows appear (the ones that appear when you hit the right button of your mouse) This problem appear when I installed a Wireles Pocket Mouse software from Kensington Mouseworks, I already unistal the device and the software but the problem persist, I try to reinstall the driver from the patch on the averatec website but it didn't work.

Again I hope someone can help me and I thank you in advance for your help!!

Smile Problem solved, ALL OF THEM!!

Hello again, I already solved all my C3500 problems, the solution? Reinstall everything using the recovery cd's that came with the computer, it just take about 1 hr to reinstall everything including the Service Pack 2, Roxio, Norton and all the gadgets because all are included in the cd's!!!

I just hope those annoying problems won't come back!!
