Arrow Still Waiting!!

Averatec's call tag was placed on the 8th of December. Maybe I'll get to even use my C3500 at some point. I bought my unit in the beginning of November. Thats 2 months wasted for factory defects. I'm going to bitch that my warranty start over when they finally fix their problems. This is the tracking from fed-ex, not that anyone would care, I'm just venting my frustration. Oh yeah fed-ex is the worst shipping company as you can see below:

Sorry that your problems are not solved. You may vent. You've been extremely patient.

Please let us know when it's all settled or at least keep us updated. We are all here for you.

FWIW, I worked in tech support for many years. RMAs were the most frustrating part of the job. In many companies there are people dedicated to calling on the status of RMAs. I can think of one motherboard company that produced a board we used to call the boomerang. The board had a 100 percent return rate. Ironically, a well known hardware review site rated that board the best motherboard. It was a terrible board. :p

Luckily Averatec is a good company and they'll set things right for you. Hang in there.

Well, I did rma's for a distributor that I was actually a customer with for a long time before working for them. In fact I just finished writing their rma program with access ans sql server. Im no stranger to those hats. I havent had much luck with purchasing electronics in the past few months. I think I've been cursed. First the laptop, then a new nextel i860 I bought for my girlfriend for x-mas and a 7200 rpm hard drive for the C3500 wich newegg sent me two doa's. Im wondering now if the C3500 is messin up the drives. The third one that comes I will test with a USB craddle. Maybe Averatec has some kind of bios lock on the hardware. It does run hot and any upgrade might push the heat factor over the edge causing damage to it. :w00t: We will see.

The more I work with the Averatec, the more I realize heat is a factor. I've learned to prop the unit up and make sure the airflow is good. I rarely keep it sitting firm on my lap.

What I cant figure out is why they put the processor on the left leg. You would think with heat being a problem they could have centered it between your legs. Maybe they used the corner because they didnt want the intake under the unit.
