Cleaning Averatec Screen?

Hi, I checked the manual to see exact what to do to clean the screen. It said to only use a damp washcloth with water.
- So, I used a barley wet silk cloth to clean the screen and now there's streak marks across the screen that I can't get out. It's been that way for about a month now. What should I do?

Use a dry, soft cloth to rub the screen. A shamy is perfect. If you are careful then you can get out any scratches.

If you need to use water then you can use the moisture from your breath to add just the right amount of water. Simply breathe onto the screen and then wipe with the shamy. No need to spit :)

Stay away from sprays or liquid that might run down into the digitizer and ruin things for you.

Of course, you'll want to keep your unit off and unplugged when you clean it. :whistling

The tablet screen actually has a very durable surface, much more so than a typical laptop display or desktop LCD and CRT displays. This is because in normal use, you're dragging a pen tip on the surface all the time.

I use some Kensington spray cleaner I have around, and a soft rag. I actually scrub pretty hard and don't have any streaks left or any oily fingerprints. To buff out the occasional streak, I don't have any problems using a small wad of toilet paper or shirt sleeve.

You need to clean the Averatec's display pretty well the first time. There is a residue from the peel-off plastic shipping protector which makes the pen squeak a lot. I'd suggest picking up some LCD wipes at the nearest computer store, if you don't have a bottle of display cleaner.

I use a cotton handkerchief, breathe on the screen, and gently rub. If you have an old 100% cotton tshirt in the rag bag that will probably do the trick too.

Just by some laptop screen wipes from best buy, most of them say streak free but they do leave streaks. So after you're done actually cleaning it, buff the streaks away with a microfiber towel, u can buy them from the auto dept of most stores. This method works perfectly for me, happy cleaning!
