Angry Hating Averatec More And More!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:realmad: :realmad: :realmad:
I need to vent. After 5 minutes of receiving my C3500 from being reapired wich was defective on arrival (brand new), I had a new problem which i didnt have before. This was on a Monday. After calling and telling them that I wasnt going to pay for shipping this time to fix the new problem they agreed and scheduled a pickup with fed-ex. Fed-ex said it was going to be picked up on wednesday, then thursaday, then friday, then saturday. Well I just got off the phone with fed-ex and they told me that averatec didnt do the call tag right and that I would have to call to ask them to do it again. Here it is a week later, I could have spent the $20, shipped it myself and it would have been there allready. Man, I get nothing but bad karma from this copmpany. I am so pissed off right now. I am at their mercy. I will ship it out tomorrow myself. Thanks again averatec. I cant wait until this is over.

Hey - vent away. It can be a real PITA when there is a screwup. And let me speak for all of us here and say that we are sorry to read about the troubles. All in all, Averatec support people seem to be like those in many other companies; they seem to do their best with what they have been given.

Maybe you could find one contact person at Headquarters and see if they can walk things through for you. Colin is extremely helpful and maybe you could call him and see if he'd be willing to check up on things. Talk to the operator and ask if she / he knows of someone who can help you. Ask for someone to be your hero. Now Colin is extremely busy and travels so you'd have to be extra polite and plead that you've been patient -- after all -- you already sent the unit in for repair once -- but you might want to start with him.

Let us know how it goes for you. Good luck and may you once again be happy with the unit and company.

I wouldn't beat up Averatec for that, I've had similar experiences with big-name vendors like Compaq and IBM. Unfortunately, in business it doesn't pay to do "non-revenue services" any better than your competitors. Everyone has customer support with about the same quality of employees. No one pays well enough to have tech support that sits on the edge of their chair excitedly answering questions and then personally fly out to pick up and repair your laptop.

My point exactly. I would expect these experiences with BIGGER companies. Smaller companies have control over their management and should be happily on the edge of their seat to help us when things go wrong. A smaller company cant afford to lose a good reputation for unsurpassed service. I am not upset with tech support. I am upset with the repair department. Most of my trouble has to do with them. These guys are not out on the front lines talking to customers and getting feedback and i think they should be. Did they even bother to test my C3500 before they shipped it out? How come i noticed the problem it in 5 minutes? Thats pathetic man. Nowadays there are too many TIERS to go through, the whole meaning and pourpose get lost in translation. After that nothing matters. I am more upset with myself for putting up with this. Right now there isnt any light at the end of my tunnel. We will see what happens. My $0.02
