Driver for Floating TIP in SP2

If you'd like to test a driver for the Averatec C3500, contact support and they will email you the driver. This driver is to be used at your own risk but should solve the floating TIP problem.

Thanks to Shanks for the information!

And thanks to you for spreading this information!

You need to update the driver in Safe Mode if you want to avoid bluescreening the machine, but the update will still be installed either way. Works great.

I don't know if the driver is responsible, or if I merely didn't discover how to do this before, but I can now get right-click with the side button. I thought I had tried everything. You have to hold the button and then tap the screen...something I'd already tried of course. But what I notice now is that you must press the screen much more firmly for a right-click than for a left-click. This might have been what was throwing me off. If someone hasn't installed the new pen driver yet, maybe they could try and see if it works. Remember...hold the side button and tap FIRMLY...it's more of a sharp peck than it is a tap. You must continue holding the button as you bring it away from the screen.

Any word on this patch becoming "Live" yet? I'm hesitant to get a beta fix and I'd really like my TIP working right.

It's just a driver...not going to mess up the whole system. Besides, I've been using it for a while and it seems to work just the same, except that the TIP works now. I suspect someone merely had a boolean value flipped somewhere involving hover detection.

Here are the <sarcasm> incredible </sarcasm> instructions I got with the file from Averatec:

"Yes, there is a driver that fixes the issue with the TIP disappearing. The driver hasn't been released, and so using it is at your own risk. You also have to boot into safe mode to install it properly."

I have absolutely no idea how to proceed. I got the same zip attached to that email as was linked to here.

Windows updates now have the driver (and another driver) updates posted. Tools, Windows Update, search for updates, install, reboot. Works well.
