I'm sorry but I don't understand. Averatec is the OEM in charge of shipping. What exactly did the Averatec representative state? Was this rep talking about Windows XP Reloaded?

MS is supposedly coming out w/ a new Tablet OS

Just spoke with the rep at Averatec... they said because MS is coming out with a new version of the Tablet OS, Averatec put a halt on their shipment to try and get it implemented.

IMO, I think it's Averatec's responsibility to honor the purchases they had prior to MS throwing a wrench in the works. Most computer buyers should know by now that OS's are constantly being updated so if MS comes out with a new [OS] version, a patch will have to be applied just like every other time an update comes out. Either that or have the OS shipped when it comes out and I'll reinstall it myself. I don't understand why I now have to wait for MS to get their thumbs out of their ass.

This sucks! :realmad: I have things to do!!!!!!

This blows big time!
I have already waited exactly 57 days since I ordered the **** thing. And now they want to wait to put on a new OS.
The people at averatec don't even bother to tell me that its going to be delayed longer than expected. I even e-mail them and I still don't get an answer. I have to hear it through a message board. I have dreaded each day of college with out a much needed laptop
I can't buy one at Costco because there is none located where I am at, and they don't sell them online. I should have bought it from staples website, but no they sold out in like two days! Is there any other place that is selling them before Christmas?

Thank your for reading about my complaints.

I think Staples is still your best option, the orders should be tapering off now that the rebate is over. Averatec's shopping site claims to be out of stock, I don't know if Staples is out but I ordered mine on Thursday and got it yesterday. They currently claim about three days delivery for it, so the Staples website doesn't seem to think they're out of stock.

Yes Staples is completely sold out. The following message shows up after I try to add the item to the shoping cart:

"Sorry, the following item(s) you have placed in your Cart are currently out of stock."
- I can't go any further on their website. I tried calling a store several miles away from where I live and they didn't have any or was expecting to recieve the tablet.
