| I seem to be having a similar problem with my keyboard. I am a pretty quick touch typist and when I get cooking a lot of keystrokes get lost, especially the spacebar. I have been tempted to return it for a replacement unit but won't bother with the hassle if all the keyboards are behaving the same. I would be pleased to hear from others on this. |

| Keyboards I thought this was an important enough discussion point regarding Tablet PCs. Several companies seem to put the keyboard as an after. It took me several weeks to get to where this keyboard on my Acer TravelMate was comfortable - and I wasn't hitting too many wrong keys.

| Does this problem really get better if you hit the keyboard harder? or are we just getting used to it? It kind of feels like the computer is missing key strokes because it is not "listening" I was hoping the problem is due to glitch in sampling keyboard and touchscreen inputs and would be fixed with driver or bios upgrade in the near future. :helpsmili |

| No, pressing harder doesn't work Pressing harder makes no difference in these Averatec keyboards. I type extremely fast (upwards to 200 words a minute). On this keyboard I often lose entire sentences while I'm typing. For some reason large amounts of type are never relayed to the CPU. I don't think there's anything I can do about it. I have to slow down to about 60 WPM to even stand a chance, and even then I'm missing letters. |

| Well I gave up.... I gave up the tablet function with a cheap keyboard for an IBM T42 thinkpad without the tablet function for the same price...this keyboard is much better and I don't have greesy finger prints all over my screen  My c3500 just did too many weird things and there weren't any new downloads on averatecs website. Also I couldn't get a spare battery to save my life. Simply put, Averatec didn't provide the support I would like to see after sinking $1200 into a machine. |

| From Averatec tech support... "This is resolved by the newest release of the BIOS, which will be posted on our website soon." When I asked him to email it to me, he said... "Unfortunately, it has not even been released to me in a beta form, so I cannot provide it to the public. As soon as it is released, we will have this posted." If they don't have it in beta yet, I'm not sure how "soon" it will be on the website, but I guess we'll have to watch and wait As I was typing this, the keyboard messed up on me 3 times...make that 4.
