I have an Acer Travelmate 303 that won't power up on battery or AC. It was left in standby with the screen closed overnight on AC power without a battery in the battery bay. Two little lights were lit on the outside of the cover. I typicly run it this way because in In feb of this year i had to replace my battery as it would nolonger hold a charge.
The next morning the laptop wouldn't reawaken no lights were on, the power slid switch would not reactivate the unit. Holding the power slid switch in the on position for several seconds is supposed to reset this laptop but we had no luck. Plugging in the power adapter used to cause the laptop to chirp, now nothing additionally the LED on the power supply strobes when plugged into the laptop.
Wouldn't you know my warranty expired January of this year.
Acer wants a flat rate fee of $450.00 U.S. to fix.
Before I send it in for service I plan on purchasing a new power supply to see if perhaps my power supply is defective. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
