How can i replace my latch on my TravelMate C300XCi?

Any informations?

Repair, replace ..........help, i am talking about the latch that closes safe the Notebook and open it.

What's wrong with it? Does the little hook come up when you flip the latch button under the trackpad?

Or is the latch not latching properly? The top latch section (up above the top of the screen, next to the wifi/BT/HDD indicator lights) has a small magnet inside that holds the latch shut. I've had my 301 coem back from service a few times where they've forgotten to put the magnet back in and it won't latch properly... is that the same problem you;re having?

The thing is, i tryed to open it op with a screwdriver and a hammer (I am an airplan mechanic LOL) because the whole latch was stick and would not open with human power.
Now the latch moves to RH and LH but the hoook is totaly inoperative. I proberly hunted the spring inside, so i think i have to order a new one. I think something flyed away when i hammered on it, that was last year.

How do you think?
