Im unable ot answer any of your questions but would like to ask you some regarding the Acer tablet of yours.

Im looking at getting a PC tablet and not sure as to which to get, the Acer is probably the one that stands out at the moment but I need to know about the hinges problem Ive read about.

Are the hinges loose at all? Have you had to tighted the screws yet?

Also does the Acer support pressure sensertive? by that I mean can you alter the thickness of the line with however much pressure is applied?

The reason for asking that is I want to do alot of drawing and have been told that some PC tablets can do it and others cant but you might be able to get a walcom pen to work with it.

Whats the screen quality like (picture wise)? How is the quality if you use an external monitor?

Do you use the wireless option at all? If so what sort of signal quality do you get?

The horizontal swivel hinge has become loose on mine. I have not tightened it. I have had the unit for almost 1 year. The veritical hinge (lift the lid) is tight as the day I got it.

Yes, pressure sensitivity is supported (app needs to support this as well for full functionality)

I use either an external display at 1900x1440 or the internal LCD at 1024x768 for approx 11 hours per day. Great on both counts, no issues I can think of related to the display or display adapter.

Yes, I have wireless on in both B and G modes all day. The unit is not any better at acquiring a weak/poor signal in areas that other laptops have problems in, so I'd call it on par with other systems.

Thanks for getting back to me, I got to admit I went off on one the other day and said how no one replies on here :whistling . I got a reply back explaing that its because the post (my post) was in the wrong area and also the forum is migrating to a different location...doh!

Well anyway, would you actually recommend a Acer PC tablet then? Also which one, im thinking the C300.

Im wanting a laptop that will run or have;
Photoshop CS - this should support the pressure pens?!
Visual Studio 2004 Academic - application/web development
Macromedia Flash/Dreamweaver - Web development
A decent amount of RAM, HD space and CPU speed.
DVD burner - burn dvd movies that ill make off the camcorder (very rare but does happen)
Wireless LAN - to connect to my 2000 server I just got going..still fine tuning it (got a few issues with the remote install guide and it needed a seprate HD which is in there but I cant partion)
Thats about it, oh Im also thinking of getting a TC card to put in it but I dont think there is such a thing yet as wireless TC cards so that might not be possible.

I have not fount one better than the Acer spec or price wise but know little about the overal build and quality of them..hence asking the questions now rather than spending out and getting a dud.

Just a quick one, is the C300 range wireless 802.11b or g? As some websites Ive fount, say one thing and another says different.

FokkerDMR mentioned that he is using B and G modes, what model is that?

Im thinking of getting the TravelMate C301XMi v2, does anyone one have this model? Is it worth getting or stay clear of?

It has a DVD+RW dual layer burner, it says that it is a plug in module. Is that correct aswell? I would assume that if the burner is swapable then something would take its place....but what?

I am also thinking of getting it from shopacer, does anyone know if it is any good?
