| Hi, I have owned my tablet pc for over a year now and I can honestly say I have loved it and not had any real issues, even my contact with Acer Tech Support has been really good (pickup arranged in under 10 mins and repaired in less than 10 days). Currently I am on MS XP Tablet Edition 2005 version 2002 SP2, I have noticed that my firewire network card (1394 Net Adapter) has a yellow excalmation mark by it, I did look it up and tried Microsoft's recommendations, none of which work. However my external DVD/CD-RW works fine so do I need to worry about this???? Also, when I use one note for my handwriting, does anyone else feel the 10.4" screen is a tad small? I'm not complaining just wondering of there are any "good working" practices out there I can follow to make it more "enjoyable" and "easier". On battery mode, how can I get the best battery life out of it? I mean my current power settings mean that in a meeting if I am not making notes for about 5 mins it keeps going off. If I leave it on all the time time the battery life would end really quickly, what's the best settings to maximise the usage? Finally, has anyone successfully installed Linux on here? I have Suse 8.2 prof installed (dual boot), but I can never get the modem or the wireless network to work (I have wireless broadband at home - its cool), nor can I get the stylus or screen orientation to work. I have very little technical knowledge of linux (or unix) and everytime I see an article saying something like changing the kernel or some file parameters I have no idea where these files are or how do this. I can use it as a normal laptop in SuSe but it would be ideal if I can at least get the wireless part working if nothing else - any help welcome cheers Ismail |

Mine is a USB drive and I suspect yours is too and that is why the 1394 driver isn't an issue. Quote:
