| HI everyone, If you own a Acer TravelMate C300 I would like to know is it worth buying, do you like it, why and do you recommend it. Also could you tell me if you have any problems with it. I just need opinions to help make a final decision on which Tablet(s) to buy. :detective Thanks!

| Problems with Acer Travelmates I would not advise the acer travelmate until you have looked at all your options. The company i work for (and support) just purchased 50 of these and in two months time we've had many sent in for service (about 5-7 i believe). Also they are very poorly made on some parts, they are a good for an overall item but if you just buying it for your personal use i would look at something better first. I have used the panasonic toughbook series and really like them however. -problems we've had: bad cd drives, bad screens, two units that randomly powered off, etc. Also it is extremly heavy for a tablet i would say--at least 8-9lbs of weight, the panasonic's are very light and can be held much longer. Around here in ohio there is a hospital that purchased over 100 of the panasonics for their field staff and they seem to be working out well. also poor battery life in real usage. - like 3 hours Last edited by cat5services; 07-06-2004 at 10:23 AM.. |

| I would have to say that you are completely wrong about the Acer Travelmate C300. I have had no problems with mine. The problem with your companies Acer computers is probably the users and not the machines. First of all, the Acer C300 only weighs 6 lbs, not 8-9. Second, the battery life is amazing. One of the longest battery life's available with any laptop now: 5 hours even with the wireless enabled. I think you should recheck those facts. The Acer C300 Tablet is one of the best Tablets you can buy right now! Quote:

| I've had mine for about a week now and I'm in love with this thing. It's working great, only glitch is a slight offset when the curser travels along the edge of the screen where the hinge is...it moves out about 1/4 inch. It's not light, but it's no heavier than a typical laptop. You'll be hard pressed to find a convertable tablet like this with a full keyboard, big 14" screen, long battery, etc. that weighs anything less. It's a great product for the price, and makes certain data entry so much more intuitive and fun. Regards, Darryl Cannon www.killboy.com |
