| Active Sync & Bluetooth Hello All I have a MotoQ (Telus) and Active Sync 4.5 on my desktop. I have a bluetooth connection that I would like to use to sync my outlook calendar. I can make the connection and see the phone, but Active Sync will not recognize that there is a device. Any suggestions? I've done a search but can't find any definitive instructions on how to make this work. TIA |

Usually you have to add a Bluetooth COM port, then enable connectivity within ActiveSync on that COM port that you added. If your using XP SP2 native Bluetooth drivers, its not that hard. Go to run and type "bthprops.cpl" If this shows your paired Bluetooth devices, you should be using XP SP2 Native drivers...you can always check this list too: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/841803 Cordially, Jasper Morse |

| Re: Active Sync & Bluetooth Hi Jasper Thanks for your response I have setup 1 Bluetooth Com Port - Com4. I'm using a Belkin USB 2.0 adapter (connects at 2.1). My Windows does not recognize it so I have installed the drivers from the Belkin CD. From the Bluetooth Setup, active sync will only allow me to connect using Com3. From ActiveSync itself, I can choose Com1, 3 or 4. I can connect via generic serial com 4 through the Bluetooth manager. I can see my device from my pc (XP2). If I run bthprops.cpl - nothing happens. Any help is appreciated. | Re: Active Sync & Bluetooth Hi All Ok - the Windows drivers do not install. So I've installed the lastest belkin drivers. I have Active Sync 4.5 on WinXP2. I can connect, it tells me that I have connected to ActiveSync on Com 3. But when I try to sync from my phone (MotoQ - WM5) it starts out syncing, then goes back to connecting then eventually times out. I'm stumped - anywhere else I can look for suggestions? The links in the thread unfortunately have been of no help as they reference the windows drivers. | Re: Active Sync & Bluetooth Robyn: I don't have a solution. However, I know that my own Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone (a T-Mobile SDA) was never able to sync via Bluetooth. And, I can confirm that the problem was not on the Windows XP desktop side since the same PC can sync with an i-Mate K-JAM (Pocket PC Phone Edition) and T-Mobile Dash (Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone). It might be that the Moto Q simply can't sync using Bluetooth (like my SDA). -- Todd Ogasawara, Mobile Devices MVP http://mobileviews.com/blog/ =================================== "Robyn Harcott" <Robyn.Harcott@ucfv.ca> wrote in message news:460A30B2.CE59.0075.0@ucfv.ca... | Re: Active Sync & Bluetooth I have a HTC S620. Activesync on my smartphone has the option to "Connect via Bluetooth" in the Menu. The Q does not have this feature? I would have thought this to be a standard feature in Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone Edition.
