Windows Media Running on Vista Does Not See Storage Card In TreoWX

I would like to synch music, but using Windows Media, it does not see my
stoarge card. Only seea Treo Device itself to synch to, but I wish to synch
to Storage Card rather than dveice.

Is this a recognized bug when running Media Player under Vista OS?

Re: Windows Media Running on Vista Does Not See Storage Card In TreoWX

This may be the problem documented in KB article 931621.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931621/en-us

There is a download there that just came out, you should try to see if it
solves to problem. Hopefully this patch solves your problem. If not, post
back here (microsoft.public.smartphone) so we know how it went for you
folks.

Good luck!

Re: Windows Media Running on Vista Does Not See Storage Card In TreoWX

I had the same issue until I turned off 'advanced networking functionality'
for the 'USB to PC' setting on my device. What are the advanced networking
features I'm missing out on by turning this off, and, should I turn it back
on and apply the patch you mentioned? Thanks!

Re: Windows Media Running on Vista Does Not See Storage Card In TreoWX

Enabling Advanced Networking Functionality toggles from the Serial Driver
for you device to the RNDIS driver for USB communication with your computer.
Essentially the RNDIS driver is a better model for your PC and device to
talk to each other. If you want a technical overview of the differences you
can find them at
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device...IS/rmNDIS.mspx

At the end of the day, it doesn't make a huge difference. Often if you're
device has a problem communicating with your PC then toggling Adv Net
Functionality is a magical fix.

In my personal experience, transferring large files (such as movies in
Windows Media Player) is more reliable over RNDIS. Ultimately, if serial is
working without any problems for you, then there is no need to switch.

Re: Windows Media Running on Vista Does Not See Storage Card In TreoWX

Thanks for the info... Do you think the patch you referenced would make it
all work with RNDIS?
