Attention Windows Mobile/ActiveSync experts - "Chani Johnson, Tony Grue, etc."

Ok...some guru has got to explain this to me....i used to have a motorola mpx220 smartphone running an older version of windows mobile. i think i was using activesync 3.8(?) --- it allowed me to select which contacts i wanted to sync from outlook to my phone. now i buy a "blackjack" running WM 5.0 and have upgraded to the lastest Activesync 4.5 BUT THE SETTING BUTTON FOR CONTACTS IS ALWAYS "GREYED OUT"!!! thus, i cannot specify which contacts to sync to my phone (i end up getting ALL of them). how could the newer versions not allow this but is worked perfectly on the older version? someone, somewhere must know how to "ungrey" the settings button. please help - jesse (mrjsandhu******.com)

Unfortunately, Microsoft removed the "categories" option for Widows Mobile 5
devices from ActiveSync 4.x.
No chance to "ungrey" this option but it might come back with a later
version. However, this isn't confirmed so far but Microsoft is aware of it,
that users want to get categories support back.
