| Re: How To Disconnect from Internet Verizon/Pantech PN-820. Yes, I tried brifly press int the red stop button. It was the first thing I tried, it just didn't work. Seems like it should. I also didn't find anything that allowed me to "close" Internet Explorer. Thanks for your help. On my Cingular 8525, to break the Internet connection I can touch the icon next to the signal strength bars. A 'connectivity' window appears to disconnect from the Internet, connect to Wi-Fi or change settings. If you are using a Smartphone without touch screen, can you rotate the thumbwheel selection window to that icon and select? |

I cannot get to the top bar where the signal strength icon resides. I have noticed however that after a short time Zs appear with the icon. I assume that means it is snoozing and not on air time. It seems to disconnect on its own after that. But I'm not sure if I did something to cause the disconnect, or if it did it on its own. I appreciate your help. I would like to find a definite disconnect, but . . . . Bill |

I also didn't find anything that allowed me to "close" > Internet Explorer. Oh, I see regarding the device. Well, we don't have it over here in Europe, so I cannot test it and manufactures are not forced to implement the "red button" way while most implement it to hang up anyway. Looks like Pantech missed it. Regarding the "close" functionality: Windows Mobile manages all the storage space itself, there is no inbuilt close functionality for non of the original Microsoft applications. However, there are a couple of 3rd party appliacations available, just do a Google search for "Task manager Windows Mobile Smartphone". -- Cheers ~ Arne Hess (Microsoft MVP Mobile Devices) Publisher & Editor in Chief "the::unwired" http://www.theunwired.net Publisher & Editor in Chief "the::placeshift" (NEW) http://www.placeshift.net |

Sorry to hear that! Not that the Virgin Lobster implementation is perfect. No SMTP server provided by the Virgin network, so, if using the messaging application, the user can retrieve email and read it, but not reply to it. The workaround is to open the browser and use webmail. <sigh> Martin. -- Can you spare three minutes for Daria? - http://tinyurl.com/48ltd The campaign to get every episode of Daria released on DVD.
