Daylight Savings Time update?

Looking at this article it appears that an DST update is supposed to be
available today??

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923953

I know that I can create my own CAB file from article, but I'm just looking
for the "offical" update.

Thanks,

-g

Re: Daylight Savings Time update?

I guess those MS guys are having trouble figuring out how to build the CAB
file ;^)

Re: Daylight Savings Time update?

Typical MS, there is nothing about the patch on the site the KB article
tells you to go to. You can download one that will detect what version of
Windows mobile you have and install it for you here:

Excellent!

It's SO often that what you need IS on the MS site you just have to FIND it.
:P

Yup, the first article I mentioned needs to updated. Along with this one...

Thanks,

Despite the info on the download page, this update installs & works on my
PPC 2002 as well!

Re: Daylight Savings Time update?

Did you just install this, or actually test this? I installed it on my
smartphone WM5, set my date to the new DST date 3/11/07 and the time to 1:59
AM and it automatically switched when it hit 2 AM. I installed it on a Dell
Axim also WM5 and it did not work when I tested. Just wondering what devices
you guys installed and tested it on.

OK, I need help...

Downloaded the setup file to my desktop and ran it.

Then I connected my mobile device and sync'd it.

??

I'm not sure if anything happened. Is there any way to verify the
update is complete?

I appreciate your help!

Thanks!

It should be a cab file.

THANKS!

Got it.

Downloaded the .cab file

copied it to my handheld

found it on the handheld

double clicked on it

it ran

Now I assume I'm good.

Any way to confirm that?

I set it for March 11

1:59:00 AM

Time switched to 2:00 AM

nothing happened.

Re: Daylight Savings Time update?

The update adds the new rules for various time zones to your PPC, but I
don't think it modifies the rules for the currently-selected time zone.

So you have to change to a different time zone, then change back to get the
current rules refreshed from the list of rules. Changing to the "Visiting"
location and back to "Home" would do it.

Cheers
