Windows Mobile 5.0 & Deleting POP3 Messages

I have a Samsung BlackJack running Windows Mobil 5.0 (5.1.342 – Smartphone) and am having trouble nailing down my configuration settings. When I first bought the phone, it worked perfect. It would download messages automatically, and when I deleted them, they would disappear from both the phone and the server.

However, a month ago, there was a sim card problem and Cingular reset my phone to its factory defaults. Now, when I go to delete a message, it initially deletes, but on the second send/receive, it re-downloads them from the server.

Chronology:

POP3 Send/Receive: Messages downloaded
I delete all messages
15 min later
POP3 Send/Receive: No messages downloaded
15 min later
POP3 Send/Receive: All messages that were deleted are re-downloaded as new messages.

Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere? How do I get the blackjack to delete messages off the pop3 server. It send mail perfectly and receives mail perfectly, so I know it is accessing both the pop3 server and the smtp server.

Any help would be great.

Hi Nick,

I can't think of any setting that you are missing. Which mail server are
you using?
