Blackjack powered USB sync cable

Hi,

It appears that the USB sync cable shipped with the Blackjack will not power
the device. Any idea where I can find a 'powered' USB sync cable?

Try installing ActiveSync on the computer you're trying to use to power
the Blackjack. I know it sounds goofy, but mine charges off the
included USB, and the Cingular guy mentioned that you needed to take
the installation step.

Re: Blackjack powered USB sync cable

Chris,

I have AS running. BTW: I tried plugging the USB cable into onto of those
wall adapters; i.e. 110V to USB chargers, nothing. Seems like they left out
the 'power' wire in the cable.

BTW: It amazes when I start using a device and I find design flaws in the
first few minutes. How the heck does Samsung (on any other manufacturer)
not figure this out before shipping millions of them. The car adapter's
wire comes out the left side, facing *upwards* and slides in and out quite
freely. It is impossible to hold and MUCH worse than my old Nokia whose
power cable simply *snapped* into the *bottom*. No charging when syncing is
terrible too - especially given the poor battery life. How can every
reviewer complain about the tiny silver round arrow keys, but Samsung
couldn't figure it out? Samsung provides a spare battery (essentially
admitting to bad bettery life), but then it is practically impossible to
remove the battery cover! And that spare battery charger's design is
piss-poor too.

I love the device, but these design flaws make a great phone a bit of a
pain; trying to strategically place the phone in the car so that the power
cable does not slide out and then hearing the phone's "charging", "not
charging", "charging", "not charging" tones every few minutes forcing me to
push the connector back in.

Re: Blackjack powered USB sync cable

Hilton, I had the same problem but i solved it with an I-Go car charger. the
longer cable takes the pressure off the plug. I, too am amazed that no
manufacturer seems to be able to put all the "good" features in one device
