I have an MPx220 and on the front of the phone display there is an icon that
appears that I cannot find in the instruction manual. It appears to the
right at the top of the display next to the signal strength bars...the best
way I can describe it is sort of like the letter "B" laying on its
side...one of the holes in the "B" has a dot inside of it...anybody?

Hundreds of years ago, back when telephones were powered by steam, and
actually had, <gasp> WIRES we would record messages on audio tape
recorders called "answering machines."

That "B" on it's back is an icon of a tape.

I suspect the owner's manual doesn't mention it because the carrier who
sold the phone (and edited the manual!) probably used to alert customers
of voicemail via text message instead of an icon, and only started using
the icons relatively recently.
